Getting started
What is SoloSquare?
SoloSquare helps you meet people through small, real-world plans, like coffee, a walk, a meal, or a museum, hosted by travelers, digital nomads, and locals. Choose a city, find a plan, join, and say hello in the group chat.
Is SoloSquare free?
Yes. You can browse and use Free features without a subscription. Optional Premium unlocks more people, matching filters, wider distances, priority placement, and profile-view alerts. Web plans are $9.99/week, $21.99/month, or $89.99/year in USD. Eligible first-time annual subscribers get 7 days at $0, then $89.99/year unless cancelled before the trial ends.
Manage web payment details, invoices, and cancellation in Settings → Plan & billing. If you subscribed in the App Store or Google Play, manage your subscription there.
Who can join?
Anyone 18 or over. Some plans need the host’s approval, and some are just for women, men, or members of the LGBTQ+ community (shown as Girls only, Boys only, and LGBTQ+).
Can I message someone privately?
No, and that’s on purpose. Everything happens in a plan’s group chat or your city chat, which keeps meeting people simple and safer.
Your account
I didn’t get the confirmation email
Check your spam or junk folder for an email from SoloSquare ([email protected]). If it isn’t there, log in with your email and password, and we’ll offer to send a new link.
I forgot my password
Choose Log in, then Forgot your password?, and we’ll email you a link to choose a new one.
How do I change my profile?
Open the account menu and choose Your profile. Your gender can’t be changed after you finish your profile, because it decides which plans and rooms you can join. If it’s wrong, email us.
What is a selfie review?
An optional check where a person on our team compares a selfie with your profile photos. It isn’t an ID check or a background check. We delete the selfie as soon as it’s reviewed.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Privacy & safety → Delete account and type DELETE. It’s immediate and permanent: your profile, photos, messages, and sign-in are deleted, and plans you’re hosting that haven’t ended are cancelled.
Can’t log in? Email us from your account’s email address, and we’ll delete it for you.
Plans and meetups
What if I can’t make it?
Leave the plan before it starts, so someone else can take your place. Once it has started, let the group know in the chat. When you let people know, the host can mark you as “Couldn’t make it”, which doesn’t count against you.
How does the show-up rate work?
After each plan, the host confirms who came. Your show-up rate compares the plans you came to or hosted with your no-shows, and it appears after three confirmed plans. Until then, your profile says New. Think a mark is wrong? Email us.
What is a recap?
When a plan ends, you have 14 days to share how it went: three quick questions and an optional note just for our team. Hosts also confirm who came. Other members don’t see your answers.
Safety tips
These habits help you stay safe, but they can’t guarantee it. You meet other members at your own risk.
- Meet in public places, especially the first few times.
- Tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
- Get there and back on your own terms.
- Keep your drink and belongings with you.
- Keep where you’re staying to yourself until you’re comfortable.
- Trust your instincts. You can leave at any time, no reason needed.
If anything feels wrong, report it, even after the plan. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first. In the EU, call 112.
Reporting and blocking
- Report a person: open their profile and choose Report.
- Report a message: tap the small flag beside it in the chat.
- Report a plan: choose Report this activity at the bottom of the plan.
Tell us what’s going on, and add details if you like. The person isn’t told who reported them.
What happens next
Our team reviews reports and can remove content, cancel plans, and suspend or remove accounts. Read more in our Terms.
Blocking
Open someone’s profile and choose Block. You won’t see each other’s profiles, plans, messages, or alerts, and they won’t be told. You can unblock anytime in Settings → Privacy & safety.
Illegal content
Anyone, even without an account, can report content they believe is illegal by emailing [email protected]. Tell us where it is and why you believe it’s illegal. What to include
