Arriving in Kyiv
Via Rzeszów or Kraków (RZE)
Kyiv airspace is closed. Fly to Rzeszów (RZE), go to Przemyśl, then an overnight Ukrzaliznytsia train to Kyiv, about 10–12 h; book on booking.uz.gov.ua.
Via Chełm or Chișinău (KIV)
Alternative overland routes: Chełm to Kyiv by train, or Chișinău to Kyiv by bus. Check the border queue first.
Driving and onward travel
- Scooters: Shared e-scooters operate in some districts but service is disrupted by alerts and curfew; not recommended.
- Driving: on the right. You need a 1968 IDP plus your licence. Cars need green card insurance and original registration papers.
- Onward travel in Ukraine: No flights. Ukrzaliznytsia trains, including overnight sleepers and Intercity+, are the backbone and keep running through attacks; book early. Buses and minibuses fill the gaps.
