Arriving in Tianjin
Tianjin Binhai (TSN)
About 13 km east of the centre: Metro Line 2 to the city for about 3–5 CNY (last train around 22:50); airport buses 15–20 CNY; taxi or DiDi 45–70 CNY.
Beijing Capital (PEK)
Fly to Beijing, then go to Beijing South station for the 30-min intercity train to Tianjin (54.5 CNY second class).
Driving and onward travel
- Scooters: Not recommended: e-bikes are common but visitors cannot easily rent or register them. Use the metro and DiDi.
- Driving: on the right. IDPs aren't recognised. Visitors need a temporary Chinese driving permit (up to 90 days) or a Chinese licence.
- Onward travel in China: High-speed trains link nearly every big city, often faster than flying; book with a passport on 12306 or Trip.com. Cheap domestic flights and sleeper trains cover long distances.
