City in Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Morocco
Tangier
Ferry gateway from Spain with a revived medina, seafront and cafés, plus easy fast trains to Casablanca. Cheaper and calmer than Marrakech; ferry-port hustlers and beach crowds in summer are the trade-offs.
